Centennial session to be for the birds

Centennial’s gardens provide a welcome refuge to its feathered friends, and a local activity will show how to make a yard even more bird friendly.

Tagawa Gardens wants to make sure the music of the birds will be around for a long time to come, and has joined forces with Denver Audubon to present a workshop that will teach how, by using a few simple changes and other techniques, homeowners can create wildlife-friendly spaces. It runs for one hour, and the garden is located at 7711 S. Parker Road.

The facilitator of the session will discuss how studies have shown that the population of birds has been dropping, but if every community in Colorado works together, this can be turned around. They will review some simple ways to do so, such as avoiding single-use plastics, installing native plant species that provide food and shelter, and choosing products that are friendly to the winged creatures.

A workshop may pack a lot of learning into a small amount of time, leaving the attendees eager to learn even more. Additional educational materials for an activity can be prepared by a brochure printing company.

Tagawa Gardens is set to offer a helping hand to Centennial’s feathered friends on Saturday, February 22. It will begin at 10:30 am and wrap up at 11:30 am.
