Centennial honored for third time

For the third time, Centennial has won the Gallup Great Workplace Award, the only local government to win this honor.

The award is given in recognition of organizations that create employees who are engaged in their workplace. In such an environment, employees are dedicated to their work, enthusiastic about it, and involved in it. Having such an attitude enables them to generate growth, innovation, and creativity, which in turns results in exceptional performances. Communities that win awards like this can use graphic design to incorporate the honor into official Letterheads and other business materials.

Matt Sturgeon, the city manager of Centennial, noted that it was exciting for the city to be selected, as only 40 businesses in the world were chosen for the award, with Centennial being the single government named. He added he's impressed by how dedicated and supportive the hard-working city employees are, to their jobs, each other, and the community.

This year's award went to organizations that set themselves apart by showing how the climate in their workplaces drives business performance and engagement. Gallup uses its Q12 survey to make its selections. The survey asks employees to answer questions directly related to their commitment to the organization to which they belong, their performance, and other quantifiable measures. The results of the survey are compared with work groups throughout the globe. Centennial employs about 65 people.
