Centennial firm to work with Spanish science company

Spatial Resources, a Centennial company, has reached an agreement with Spanish firm DIELMO 3D S.L. to distribute its technology.

Spatial will distribute DIELMO's server technology, which permits visualization, distribution, and analysis of LiDAR data, geographic information, and raster layers via intranets, or over the internet.

LiDAR was first developed early in the 1960s, shortly after the laser came into use. The word LiDAR is the combination of parts of two other words, ‘light’ and ‘radar’, which explains in part how it works.

Radar measures the distance to objects by bouncing radio waves off them; LiDAR does approximately the same thing using light waves. The system Spatial Resources will distribute on behalf of Valencia-based DIELMO overcomes the technological problems LiDAR has often presented, thus making it accessible to all.

LiDAR devices collect millions of pieces of data, but it has sometimes proven difficult to interpret. Now, with DIELMO, anyone can enter a 3D environment enabling them to get a clear view of surroundings and objects. LiDAR makes it possible for anyone in the organization to see the data, which increases the number of users who would benefit from the system.

Spatial Resources might consider working with brochure printers to explain DIELMO's new technology, and distribute the booklet to companies who might benefit from the application, making them aware of the new distribution agreement.
