Even though it's an award-winning, popular spot and very successful, Centennial wants to make its Center Park even better, and is accepting comments now on the Centennial Center Park Master Plan.
The plan hopes to enhance and expand the existing park by creating additional amenities. Among the possible additions are a passive park featuring shade structures and trees, and a riparian area. Riparian is usually defined as the area on the edge of a watercourse, such as a stream or river. Here, it would apply to grasses, shrubs, and trees to be used to enhance a water feature.
Some of the other additions under consideration include a community hub that might offer rentable picnic areas with shade, sports courts, and restrooms; a sledding hill; and a court that can be used for various sports.
Officials are also considering an events lawn, plus a large pavilion, complete with areas for grilling and restrooms, that can be rented. They are also thinking about an additional area for parking and/or passenger drop-off, which would have room for more food trucks; and finally, a deck overlooking the park that offers shade and picnic seating.
The online survey about park improvements is available through July 17 at https://centennialco.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0OgpmBJSxWYIJeJ.
Since maximum participation in surveys like this is desirable, officials might consider working with a flyer printing company on a reminder for Mailing to residents, so that those without computer access would have time to use a public machine.Get a Free Quote for Mailing
