A hooting great time is on the way for the Centennial area, and some silent hunters will be the guests of honor for the occasion.
The Denver Audubon Nature Center at Chatfield will be giving owls a day dedicated just to them through the HOOTenanny Owl & Music Festival, and it will be the only event of its kind planned for the local area.
The plans for the festival include live owl demonstrations, and these will be facilitated by Nature’s Educators. The younger guests can make an owl craft, and everyone can try their luck in scavenger hunt that will encourage them to explore the site’s native plant gardens. An owl pellet dissection will offer insight into what these birds eat, and live music, exhibitor booths, and other fun will all round out the agenda.
Before they head for home, the participants in the festivities can purchase some owl-related Promotional Products and other merchandise in the venue’s gift shops and from the vendor tables that will be set up. These can be fun souvenirs of the festival.
The HOOTenanny Owl & Music Festival will be celebrating 12 years of environmental stewardship on Saturday, September 30th. It will begin at 10:00 am and wrap up at 2:00 pm, and an admission fee will be charged at the door.
