Chef Gavin Humes, who comes to Woodland Hills from Silver Lake’s Cliff’s Edge, is in charge of the kitchen at the new Tuccio’s, which is slated to open sometime in early December.
Chef Humes says the restaurant will feature dishes that are chef-driven, and will feature food from various regions in Italy. The menu will include pizzas, freshly baked bread, and pasta made in-house, along with vegetable dishes inspired by the local area. Humes says the wine list will feature lesser-known vintages from both Italy and California, and a selection of cocktails focused on the classics.
A look at the menu shows many traditional dishes, including antipasti, a number of salads, and several classic Italian entrees. More adventurous choices include squid ink tagliolini with wild fennel, wilted arugula, clams and shrimp; porchetta with grilled rapini, cannellini beans, and salsa verde; and roasted acorn squash with fennel, ricotta salata, hazelnuts, and brown butter.
The opening day is currently projected to be next Friday, December 2. The eatery will take over the former Café Fiore space, which is in the Warner Center on Oxnard Street. Gina and Damien Shields own the venture.
Establishments like this can benefit by working with brochure printers, who can create itemscomplete with colorful photos that feature the interior of new ventures, as well as their offerings. They can also include maps and information about parking.
