The Center for Autism and Related Disorders LLC (CARD) in Woodland Hills has been bought by private equity funds that Blackstone, an investment firm, manages. CARD provides services to both children and adults who are on the autism spectrum.
CARD is a nationwide organization that offers behavioral therapy to autistic adults and children at their homes, schools, or in a CARD center. The company employs behavior technicians and analysts who are well-trained and credentialed, and who interact with patients at a high level. CARD has also developed proprietary software to plan treatment and monitor results on an ongoing basis, and treats each person individually, using an evidence-based system.
Blackstone's Bruce McEvoy said CARD's work in developing behavioral therapy for autism is leading the industry. He said Blackstone was thrilled to be able to partner with CARD and its founder, Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh, as she and her team continue developing services and treatments for those on the spectrum.
For her part, Dr. Granpeesheh said she is proud of what CARD has done, but Blackstone coming on board will enable CARD to enhance its ability to help autistic persons dramatically. The enhancements will come in the form of larger investments in research, technology, clinics, and people.
Transactions like this are important to many people, so company officials might consider working with a flyer printing company to create a mailer for patients and their families, updating them.
