Residents of Santa Ana are breaking out their best gowns and straightening their bowties for the Year of the Monkey Gala.
The event is hosted by the Santa Ana Zoo and will feature gourmet meals, dancing, auctions, and of course animals in one unforgettable fundraiser.
A first class meal is being prepared by Parties by Panache, which will also include special cocktails and a hosted bar. A dance floor will be set up under the stars and a live band will play once dinner is over to help set the mood.
Legendary auctioneer Glen Fladeboe will hold both silent and live auctions for some unique items like exotic trips and gift baskets full of Promotional Products donated by several of the zoo’s underwriters. Several animals will also be in attendance at the exclusive event, providing guests with some furry photo ops.
The gala is part of the Zoofari 2016 fundraising program. For the last 24 years, the program has been pivotal in providing much needed money for expansion and renovation of the zoo. All proceeds this year are going to help provide an otter habitat at the zoo.
The Year of the Monkey Gala will be held on August 27 from 5:30 to 11:30 p.m. at the Santa Ana Zoo, located at 1801 E. Chestnut Ave. Admission is $300 a ticket and includes a free valet service.
