This fall, the city of Santa Ana will be hosting its sixth annual Plaza Navidena. The event will also feature a tree lighting ceremony.
In past years, attendees have enjoyed food, music, and fun. Last year, there was hot chocolate and buñuelos, which are fried dough snacks or desserts. One year, there were tamales, and the event also celebrated the winner of the Best Tamale in Town contest.
There will be live music and entertainment throughout the event, including mariachi music and local dance and music groups. Due to the local nature of the performers, no schedule is available yet.
A piñata will be set up for the children to play with. There will also likely be activities for all to enjoy. The highlight of the night is the tree lighting ceremony. This has taken place every year, and is a high note of the evening.
Of course, no holiday celebration would be complete without a visit from Santa Claus. The man himself will be making appearances at the event.
Parking is free and is provided on site. The event is free to attend as well, and will be held at Plaza Calle Cuatro, on the corner of Fourth and French streets.
