Sur la Table in Newport Beach is welcoming parent-and-child pairs for its special family-friendly Mother's Day Treats workshop. It is for kids who are age seven and up, although those who are under 17 years old must be accompanied throughout the activity by an adult.
The group will be walked through the steps of preparing a spread for mom or another special lady that will feature freshly baked strawberry shortcake as well as buttercream frosted chocolate cupcakes and meringue roses. It will teach the kids and adults alike some basic kitchen skills that they can then use at home, and safety will be emphasized. It will be a hands-on cookery lesson, so it has been advised that everyone wear comfortable footwear and clothes that will not be damaged in case of a spill.
