Santa Ana event celebrates popular plant

A locally based non-profit is hosting a mid-September event that will highlight a highly sought after plant.

The Fascination of Orchids Festival is a celebration of all things orchids, as well as some other exotic plants. The event is put together by the Fascination of Orchids Society, with aid from the venue, the Santa Ana Zoo. The festival is staffed with volunteering individuals from various orchid societies, master gardeners, and US Bank. This edition will be the 43rd run for the event.

Local growers, along with a few international companies/representatives, will have many varieties of the popular bloom for sale, as well as plenty of knowledge about the care and maintenance. Some may use brochure printing to provide information for guests to take home. Additional Print resources will also be out for guests.

Tickets are sold through the FOS website. Seniors and children have a fee of $4.50, while regular admission is $5. This includes access to the festival, free parking, and the whole zoo. The cost gives attendees a discounted rate for zoo access and parking compared to the typical rate, along with the addition of the festival. There are three dates. A separate ticket is needed in order to attend each date. The event runs from 10:00am to 4:00pm on September 20th, September 21st, and September 22nd.
