An event in Santa Ana is putting a highly popular type of music into the spotlight in mid-December.
Fiesta Del Mariachi is a showcase for the history, current styles, and potential future of the high-energy genre. The party is organized by ALR Productions, Santa Ana city officials, staff from the local school district, and the Power of One Foundation.
The event features performances from talent across all age groups and variants of mariachi. A market will also be present, selling a selection of tasty drinks and food.
Making this celebration different is the fact that there are two events. A free portion takes place between 9:00am and 3:00pm. This will focus on the younger performers, giving them a space to share their skills and raise some awareness for the good that music can do for kids.
Everyone who attends is encouraged to bring an unwrapped new toy as a donation. In addition, some proceeds will be sent to the Mariachi Mastery Scholarship Program, which belongs to the Power of One Foundation.
Via EventBrite, tickets for the second show are available for prices between $47.75 and $173.64. This performance will give the adult musicians their chance to shine. The parking outside the venue will require a separate fee. The hours for this portion are 5:00pm to 10:00pm.
Anyone attending either show who is younger than 16 must have an adult with them. Many concerts and festivals will advertise with flyer printing. The venue is Eddie West Field, with the date being December 8th.
