A camp in Santa Ana, California is planning to teach kids and teens about songwriting, starting in late June.
The School of Rock, a national music lesson company, will be running the songwriting lessons out of its location in Santa Ana. The camp will last five days, extending into early July.
This is best suited for people ages 7 to 18 who have had previous lessons in music. Students will be able to learn from examining a large catalog of compositions from the last six decades. Chord progressions will also be an element of songwriting analyzed. Arrangement is another important point campers can expect to work on while learning and perfecting their style of writing. This camp will end in a live performance of what the students worked on over the course of the event.
If this is a parent’s first time taking their child to a camp by School of Rock, or relatives will be coming from out of town for the final performance, they can look out for the company Logo Design to locate the building. The design features a bright red guitar, with the neck twisted around it to form the O shape.
The lessons will cost $299, with the ability to get a refund up to 15 days before the start date. Each day will last from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The dates are June 28 through July 2.
