Roseville chooses winner of Taco Throwdown
The Rotary Club of Roseville will be hosting its annual Taco Throwdown early in April.
Local restaurants will be competing for bragging rights in the best tasting taco challenge, where judges will crown a winner. Attendees will be choosing their own champion by sampling tacos and voting for their favorite. The winning teams at events such as this like to take pictures of themselves and take the photos to local print shops for poster printing. The posters usually go up in the winners’ businesses for advertising purposes.
Guests will also get to sample locally made beverages. Other entertainment at the Taco Throwdown will be lawn games, a silent auction, and a corn hole tournament. A live band will be entertaining the crowd as people rest between sampling the Mexican treats.
Admission tickets will be $49 each and team tickets to the corn hole tournament will be $40. One ticket will be needed for each two-member team.
Proceeds from this event will go to the Rotary Club of Roseville and its community programs. Some of these programs are dental screenings for elementary students, a pen pal program for third graders, access for high school juniors to attend leadership camps, and scholarships for seniors.
The Taco Throwdown is scheduled for April 6 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the Grounds, 800 All America City Boulevard.
