The Redondo Beach Public Library will present Lasers I have Loved, a presentation by laser physicist Dr. Bradley Bobbs, this June for anyone interested learning more about lasers and laser science in a funny, approachable way.
Lasers I have Loved: Gripping Tales from the Thrilling Life of a Laser Physicist, Explained for Layhumans, will discuss laser fundamentals in an understandable way regardless of mathematics experience. The speaker, Dr. Bradely Bobbs, is an adjunct professor of physics at Moorpark College and California Lutheran University and specializes in laser and electro-optical physics. He is currently employed as a senior scientist of the Laser Ultrasonics Group at Intelligent Optical Systems.
The presentation will break down lasers into easily digestible material and will introduce the audience to the various lasers Dr. Bobbs has either invented or worked with throughout the years. These lasers include the frog-legs laser, dog-replacement laser, zebra laser, golden-rectangle laser, and more. There will also be a laser app demonstration and game.
