This July, the Village Runner Independence Day 5K Run and Firecracker Dash will take place in Redondo Beach to celebrate the 4th of July and raise money for the local school system.
The Village Runner hopes that the Independence Day running event will bring the community out in fun, fellowship, and charity. A portion of all participants’ registration fees will go towards supporting the Redondo Beach Educational Foundation and local schools.
The event will feature a 3.1-mile run/walk open to all participants and a “dash” of various short distances for the younger participants. Both the run/walk and dash will be chip-timed, and awards will be given in each designated age division, as well as cash prizes awarded to the top three overall male and female runners in the 5K run. All youth dash participants will receive a finisher medal. The 5K course will begin and end on Catalina Avenue, which is located near Palos Verdes Boulevard.
Running events like this are often supported by sponsoring businesses in the community in return for advertising opportunities, such as including their business Logo Design on the event merchandise.
The Independence Day 5K Run and Dash will take place on July 4, beginning at 8:00 am. The venue is located at 255 Avenida Del Norte, near Trader Joe’s. The 5K run/walk and the dash registration fees are $45.
