Redondo Beach area brewery to host release party
Next month, pop-punk band Joyce Manor and Smog City Brewing Co. in Torrance near Redondo Beach will host a release party in honor of their craft beer collaboration.
Joyce Manor is a Southern California band that traces its roots back to Torrance, and Smog City Brewing Co. is an industry leader in the local craft beer community. The band the brewery have recently teamed up to create a unique craft beer called 40 oz. to Torrance as a nod to Joyce Manor’s newest record, 40 oz. to Fresno, which was released this year. The beer will be a German-style Helles, a lager beer accented with malt, with an approachable and easy-to-drink flavor profile.
The 40 oz. To Torrance Release Party will take place at Smog City Brewing’s main location. The band will be bartending the event, and there will be booths set up with Joyce Manor merchandise, CDs, and vinyl for sale. Local food trucks such as Comal L.A., Oaxaca on Wheels, and Pacifico Charbroiled Fish. As a special gesture, attendees who show their ticket to the upcoming Joyce Manor concert will receive a souvenir beer glass etched with a special logo design.
The free event is scheduled for December 9 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Smog City Brewery is located at 1901 Del Amo Boulevard in Torrance, which is just four miles from Redondo Beach.
