College students living in Redondo Beach can improve their coding skills with front-end web development courses created by CSUDH and BeachCoders.
This course provides a detailed introduction to programming and computational thinking. The goal here is to educate computer science students on how to build a website in HTML/CSS, followed by adding animated widgets in JavaScript. Students will be exposed to advanced frameworks including Materialize, Bootstrap, and jQuery.
In the advanced web development segment, they will gain a better understanding of JavaScript frameworks, working with data structures such as React, Node, and MongoDB. Once they receive enough training to become a full-stack web developer, they can move on to user experience design. Graphic design can play a part in teaching creative college courses similar to this one.
The user experience (UX) design course highlights the tools and techniques used to build intuitive software programs that are both user-friendly and functional to boot. It focuses on the theoretical and practical applications of software products, enabling students to make progress on projects of their choosing. The instructor will offer feedback on portfolio projects at the end of the semester.
A successful graduate in this class will be able to apply their knowledge of HTML/CSS and JavaScript topics and build a website that displays properly on multiple devices. This info session will be available on January 25, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the CSUDH Extended Education Classroom Building.
