The 10th annual South Bay Water-Wise Garden Tour will be returning next month, which may be of interest to Redondo Beach residents looking to learn more about water-conserving gardening techniques.
This self-guided garden tour winds through seven private gardens and one wetland, and allows visitors to appreciate the health and beauty of water-wise gardens in areas such as Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Torrance. Attendees will learn about the different water conservation methods of gardening, as well as how they can incorporate those techniques in their own gardens. The tour’s purpose is to provide opportunities for residents to personally observe how successful gardens can be with less water usage.
Tickets can be purchased online at SouthBayWaterWiseGardenTour.com for $10. Children 10 and under get in free. This even is rain or shine, so no refunds will be issued for bad weather. Ticket proceeds will go towards supporting the Garden Willows Wetland Preserve.
The tour is slated for Sunday, October 11 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, and it will begin at 16116 Ardath Ave. Ten days before the tour, registered participants will receive an email containing the garden tour program. Such programs often require a graphic design artist to incorporate all the visual specifics, and this one will include a map of the gardens, list of garden addresses, and scheduled talk times.
