Oaklands Laurel Street Fair back for another year

The Oakland neighborhood of Laurel will once again be hosting its annual street fair, and everyone, young or old, is invited to come out and get in on the fun.

A variety of activities have been planned for the fair’s 17th year, including live and DJ music, a Biergarten (German beer garden) and other refreshments, food and artisan vendors, community yoga, and a petting zoo. Admission is free for all, and the event is wheelchair accessible.

The organizers of the celebration put it together on a volunteer basis, with the support of the Laurel District Merchants, The Laurel District Business Association, and donations from private individuals. Both volunteers’ and vendors’ application are being accepted from those who are interested in taking part in the event. Both for-profit and not-for-profit booth spaces are available, as are spots for those who wish to sell food. A printing company can be called upon to produce everything from T-Shirts for those who will be volunteering during events such as this, to Banners and other items that can be used as decorations.

Sponsorships are also welcome. There are different levels available, ranging from Presenting Sponsors to Participating Sponsors. More information about this can be found on the event’s website.

The Laurel Street Fair has been planned for August 13 on MacArthur Boulevard between 35th and 39th Avenue in Oakland. Those who would like to find out more are welcome to contact Candi Martinez at 415-505-5559.
