Boo at the Zoo is a special event hosted at Oakland Zoo, and it combines learning about the animals that call the venue home with lots of Halloween fun.
The organizers of the festivities have created an animal-themed scavenger hunt that will explore nature’s spooky side. Costumes are highly recommended, although the zoo’s staff has requested that no inflatable outfits should be worn, as they may frighten the animals.
When individuals and families arrive for their Boo at the Zoo experience, they will receive a map of clues to follow for the scavenger hunt. At each location, they will receive an animal trading card to collect. Once they have solved all the clues, they will be invited to head to the staging area where they will receive candy courtesy of OCHO Candy, as well as a limited release card to keep or trade. Anyone who would like to enter their costume in the contest can do so by tagging their photo on social media.
Due to the nature of this activity, advance registration is required. Stationery printers will be able to prepare an assortment of customized materials to use during themed events.
The Oakland Zoo will be welcoming one and all for this spooky but fun experience starting on October 22. Each day will run from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.
