Any Oakland residents considering adding a new furry friend to their family may want to make sure they are part of a special occasion planned for the local zoo.
The Oakland Zoo will be bringing the public and animals in local shelters together for its Clear the Shelters Pet Adoption Day, with a goal of funding these companion animals a chance of finding a forever home. It will be focused on cats, dogs, and guinea pigs, but it will address responsible ownership for all types of pets.
The activity will be set up in the Children’s Zoo, and while an admission ticket is not required to enter the event, those who would like to access the rest of the facility will need to purchase an entry pass. The public can meet pets in need of a loving home, fill out an adoption application, and learn about pet care.
To thank everyone for choosing to adopt instead of shop, the organizers explained that those who end up adopting a pet during the day will receive a free family pass for the Zoo. This will include parking and can be used at a later date. Promotional Products such as stickers, Pens, magnets, and Calendars can all be prepared for a fundraiser or other event by area printers.
