Oakland Zoo offers holiday break day camp for kids

Oakland parents with kids who are bored over the holiday break are invited to let the zoo keep their youngsters entertained while they enjoy some time for themselves.

The Oakland Zoo is running its winter ZooCamp for another year. Designed for children from grades kindergarten to five, it consists of workshops that take place over two or three days. Each will include guided craft making, a special tour of the zoo, and a chance to meet some of the animals up close. It has been arranged so that a child can take part in as many of the sessions as they wish without repeating the planned activities. A company that provides printing services will be able to supply everything needed for an activity like this from name tags for the campers to Brochures and zoo-themed coloring Books.

There are four different sessions, each with its own theme, including ‘Winter Wildlife’, ‘Family Friends and Flocks’, ‘Bones, Bones, Bones’, and ‘A Day in the Life’. Supervision both before and after the camp is available at an additional cost for those who need it.

The four camps will be held this month, with the first starting on December 19 and the last beginning on December 30. They will take place at Oakland Zoo, and the cost to participate is $75 for zoo members and $80 for nonmembers. More details can be found on the zoo’s website.
