Oakland vet chosen as the best

An Oakland veterinarian is being recognized for being outstanding in his field.

Dr. Gary Richter, who is the medical director of Montclair Veterinary Hospital, was selected by the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) to be ‘America’s Favorite Veterinarian’. This is an award deigned to show appreciation to those who consistently show a commitment to providing the best possible care to their animal patients.

The selection was based on the number of votes received by the public from all over the country. 175,000 were sent in, which is more than twice as many as last year.

For his part, Dr. Richter remarked that he was both pleased and humbled to have been thought of so highly by so many, and that he really appreciated everyone’s support. He was the only holistic vet to be included in the list of 20 finalists for the award.

The criteria included in the evaluation of each of those who took part covered ethical behavior, community involvement, passion for their work, and the connections they built between themselves and pet owners. A company that provides printing services can create materials that promote the award, as well as ballot Forms and certificates for the winner.

Dr. Richter uses a variety of treatment methods that range from conventional veterinary medicine to more holistic ones such as acupuncture. He and his staff also strive to make sure that both the animal and their human companions are treated with the highest respect.
