Oakland to welcome artist's first solo exhibition

The exhibition ‘Still People: Intimate Moments’, featuring the work of Laura Juncker, will be showing at the Blackball Universe as of mid-March.

The artist's works are a combination of portraiture and film stills, and many of them are inspired by films that are not well known to the public. Her choice of medium is acrylic on wood panels. This is the first solo exhibition for the artist who recently graduated from the Pratt Institute with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

The exhibition will kick off with a reception to be held on the first day of the show. Guests will enjoy drinks and hors d'oeuvres, along with the opportunity to meet the artist. There will also be a closing reception at the end of the run.

Many people in Oakland who enjoy discovering new artists, or those who work for businesses like printing companies and are looking for inspiration, will no doubt want to experience this exhibition.

‘Still People: Intimate Moments’ will be on display at the Blackball Universe from March 20 to April 3. Admission is by donation and visiting is by appointment. The opening reception is taking place on March 20 and the closing event is on April 3, both from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Call 510-433-0933 to learn more or to set up an appointment to view the exhibit.
