An event that has been planned for Oakland will give those with a green thumb a chance to get new plants, equipment, advice, and more, all free of charge.
The Plant Exchange is a daylong function that combines horticulture with food, live music, and fun. It attracts those with an interest in gardening from all across the San Francisco Bay area, and in addition to the urban farmers, landscapers, gardeners, and others who will be coming out, Alameda County’s master gardeners will be on hand to answer questions and provide tips.
Along with the sharing of plants, materials, and tools, the second goal of the event is to encourage the public to recycle, share resources, and engage in environmentally friendly and organic living. Banner printing can be used to create decorations for an event such as this using durable materials so that they can be used over and over.
Organizers of The Plant Exchange are interested in hearing from anyone who would like to lend a hand with the afternoon’s activities. Those who would like to help can email theplantexchange@yahoo.com for further details.
The exchange will take place on October 8 from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm at 4500 Lincoln Avenue. There is no charge to take part. Anyone who would like more information is invited to visit The Plant exchange’s Eventbrite listing for further details, or to RSVP.
