CityCamp Oakland, fondly referred to as CityCampOak, will take place after the first week of the year.
In its third year, the event brings people together to discuss government transparency, accountability, and citizen participation. Sharing ideas is also a benefit of attending CityCampOak and supports healthy and informed communities.
The event takes place inside the City Hall in Oakland. Goals for focus this year will include inviting programmers, designers, and journalists to join the citizens in sharing insights and perspectives about the city.
Creating and maintaining initiatives for web usage in facilitating local government activities will also be investigated. Best practices relating to the internet, mobile capability, online data, and information will also be explored.
Local leaders will speak on topics related to the government and technology. An evening reception will be held at Parliament on Washington St and will require a name tag for admission. An after party, touted as bigger and better in 2015, is in the planning stages.
