Oakland event to explore joys of gardening

Whether they live in a rural area or call an urban high rise home, gardening is a hobby that can be enjoyed by just about anyone, and an Oakland event will help the community to get itself growing.

The team at West Oakland Library will be rolling out the green carpet for individuals and families who would like to learn more about home horticulture. It has scheduled a Garden Day for this June, and all ages may participate.

The library has scheduled an assortment of activities for the day, and a visit to the facility’s brand new seed library is just one of the offerings. City Slicker Farms will be lending its expertise to the occasion, and the public can make and take a ninja hideout or fairy house to hide in their own garden. Plant giveaways and a garden-themed story time have both been scheduled to take place over the course of the two hours.

When events need specialized printing services, local Print shops will be happy to help. They can work with most budget levels, and can be reached with questions or orders in person, online, or over the phone.

The West Oakland Branch will be hosting its Garden Day festival for the community on June 10. It will run from 2:00 pm until it wraps up at 4:00 pm.
