Oakland area event to put food on tables

An Oakland area organization that believes it is never too soon to start caring about others has planned a special event for families.

The participants in “Cookin’ for a Cause: Warm meals for Operation Dignity” will be invited to take part in some hands on learning while they prepare meals for local families that are finding it hard to make ends meet. The Quarry House at Wilder in Orinda will provide kitchen space for the event.

As the parents and children who come out work to make the food, they will have a chance to learn more about mindful nutrition. They will also be given details about Operations Dignity and practice exercises to show gratitude for the good fortune in their loves. All of the supplies that will be used during the event will be provided, and families with children age four and up are welcome.

Tickets to participate in this community service activity are being sold for $60 each, and this is for admission for one family group. Promotion products produced by a flyer printing company can be an effective way to let the local area know an event like this will be taking place.

The food preparation for a cause will begin at 12:30 pm at 8 Quarry Hill Road in Orinda on June 2. The planners noted that anyone who is interested in helping others is encouraged to attend.
