The 24th Citywide Annual Luncheon, presented by the League of Women Voters of Oakland, is taking place in the city this May.
Dr. Sylvia Earle, the National Geographic Society's Explorer-in-residence, will be talking about how humans can protect the oceans from irreversible damage. In addition, the ‘Making Democracy Work’ awards will be given to Sandra Threlfall, the founder of the Oakland Waterfront Coalition and to the Oakland Museum Women's Board.
This will no doubt be a great networking opportunity for local business leaders, environmentalists, and politicians (both men and women) in the Oakland area. There will be plenty of time to exchange cards and thereby create new partnerships.
Sponsorships are also available for local businesses or individuals from $750 to $3,000.
It is likely that many of those who are planning to attend this luncheon will be placing a new business card printing order with their regular Oakland printing company. They will want to make sure they have enough cards and that the information printed on them is current and correct.
The Citywide Annual Luncheon will be held at the Scottish Rite Center next Wednesday, May 13, from 11:15 am to 1:30 pm. Tickets are $60 for League of Women Voters of Oakland members and $80 for nonmembers. To find out more about this event or to become a sponsor, call 510-834-7640.
