Tablets have recently been installed by the City of Newport Beach in several locations throughout the city, to help individuals who are hard of hearing or deaf, or are second language learners, with services provided by the City. The services are free and will be available during regular business hours.

Those who speak a different language or communicate in American Sign Language will be able to access City services with the touch of button.

Some of the locations where visitors will be able to connect virtually to an interpreter by means of a tablet are Newport Beach City Hall, Newport Coast Community Center, the Central Library, and OASIS Senior Center.
The City might consider printing eye-catching Flyers with more information about these locations and the capabilities of the new devices that can be distributed to local deaf people and second language learners.
