A gallery in Newport Beach is celebrating its anniversary with a party.
Lahaina Gallery is 46 years old, and is holding a party in its honor. Attendees at events like this appreciate a list of the works, which organizers can create using flyer printing.
The artists who will be at the event are Caroline Zimmerman, James Scoppettone, Larissa Morais, Robert Lyn Nelson, Guy Buffet, and Alex Bernstein.
Zimmerman is an impressionist and a noted surfer whose passion for the sport took her to the South Pacific, Indonesia, England, Provence, Tuscany, and the Caribbean, where she recorded the beauty of the location in oils.
Scoppettone paints landscapes in an impressionistic style, and is known for his use of strong color and bright hues like orangs and blues.
Morais, a native of Moscow, Russia, works in oil and has evolved her style through the years, currently creating surrealistic works. She often paints beautifully gowned women interacting with mystical creatures.
Nelson painted “Two Worlds” in 1979, the work credited with starting the Modern Marine Art Movement and inspiring global marine conservation programs.
Buffet was born in Paris, and has traveled the world, particularly French Polynesia. He relocated to Hawaii and is known for his whimsical portraits of the chefs he saw in his childhood.
Finally, Bernstein is renowned for his glass work. He creates glass sculptures that tend to evoke images of nature, such as ice crystals, flowing water, canyons, and mountains.
