Local charity hires its first COO

A charity based in Newport Beach recently announced it has appointed a Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the first time in its history, according to an article in the Newport Beach Independent.

Tammy Tumbling will be the Orange County Community Foundation's incoming COO, as well as an executive vice president. The Foundation, which is 30 years old, works with businesses, families, and individuals to match the needs of the community with interested charities. It also provides nonprofits with resources and grants to aid in their work. Graphic design can be used to create an appropriate letterhead and Business Cards for a situation like this.

Tumbling comes to the Foundation from Southern California Edison, where she oversaw $20 million, the amount of company's philanthropic budget. She made certain the budget met the needs of locals, investing over $150 million in communicates in the region during her work with the utility.

Tumbling has a lot of experience working with nonprofits. Before joining Edison, she worked with the Music Center of Greater Los Angeles, where she was director of corporate giving. She was also senior campaigner and planner at the United Way of Greater Los Angeles. During her tenure at the Music Center, Tumbling raised over $3 million for the center's educational division, as well as coordinating special events and volunteers, and leading the team of grant writers.

Tumbling describes her move to the Foundation as a

“once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,”

and is eager to get started.
