According to its PTA, this year’s Malcom Elementary year-end carnival proceeds will be used to support a planned universal playground for the school.
At the Laguna Niguel school, wristbands for unlimited rides will be available for $20 with additional ones $15 apiece, or tickets for rides can be purchased for $1 each. There will be more rides than ever this year - 19 in all - including carnival rides and 25-foot high inflatable slides.
A cake walk, obstacle course, photo booth, giant rolling hamster balls and face painting will provide lots of fun for attendees between rides. A dedicated toddler park and silent auction will also be included.
While at the carnival, guests can meet the third grade girls who began the push for a universal playground and have been raising funds for it through bake sales. The girls want their school to have a playground that is accessible to students with disabilities, so they can play alongside the rest of the children in their age group.
These same girls will be hosting a bake sale at the carnival. Additionally, there will be snow cones, hot dogs on a stick, cotton candy, and a taco bar for hungry attendees.
School fundraising events can draw people from outside the local community with the help of a savvy flyer printing service. The year-end carnival will take place on June 13, from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
