Saddleback Memorial aims for $200,000 at Spring Gala

The Saddleback Memorial Foundation will be holding a spring gala in Dana Point at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel as a fundraiser for the hospital.

An Evening of Gratitude is the theme for the spring gala being hosted by the Saddleback Memorial Foundation. The foundation has a goal of $200,000 for the Breast Center at Saddleback Memorial.

The gala will feature a reception, followed by a gourmet dinner. Dancing and a live auction will round out the evening. The event is co-chaired by Bill Phillips, mayor of Aliso Viejo, and Dr. Mary O'Toole, his wife.

Using a banner printing service to promote events such as this one helps to not only raise awareness for the event and the cause, but to raises the profile of the venue as well.

Proceeds from this event are specifically earmarked to help purchase equipment for 3D imaging known as tomosynthesis. This technology enables sharper imaging and permits radiologists to see finer details, making cancer detection easier. The new machine is particularly helpful in locating abnormalities in dense breast tissue.

According to foundation president Cecilia Belew, more than 30,000 mammogram screenings were conducted at the Breast Center last year, of which 14,000 were on women who could be categorized as having dense breast tissue.

The Spring Gala: An Evening of Gratitude takes place on April 25. Tickets are $375 and can be purchased at the Memorial Care website or by calling 949-452-3964.
