The Ocean Institute, located in Dana Point, just a few miles from Laguna Niguel, is all set to hold its annual Jazz Festival.
The Festival features well-known jazz artists from around the world, as well as live and silent auctions, a wine reception, and a gala with gourmet dining. This event raises money for the hands-on, ocean-based educational programs held by the Institute.
The Festival opens this evening with a wine reception and silent auction. Hors d’oeuvres will be available, with food from restaurants in the local area with dessert and coffee. The jazz concert, featuring musicians Louis Price, Rick Braun, and Richard Elliott will follow the auction.
The premier event of the weekend is the Gala Gourmet Dinner and Jazz Performance on Saturday night. It starts with canapés and a cocktail reception, followed by a four-course extravagant meal. Rob Wilson, the executive chef of the Montage Laguna Beach, and will be leading a team of executive chefs from local resorts to create a menu exclusively for this event. There will also be both silent and live auctions.
The Ocean Institute Jazz Festival will be tonight and tomorrow (January 23).
