Laguna Niguel appoints new City Manager

After a search that spanned the entire country, Laguna Niguel’s new City Manager was found close to home.

This week, Laguna Niguel City Council is appointing Tamara Letourneau its new City Manager. Letourneau is the current Assistant City Manager in neighbouring Costa Mesa.

More than 40 qualified candidates were in the running for the spot. However Letourneau’s current role and the fact she has two other stints as City Manager in Southern California made her the top applicant.

Letourneau will be responsible for administering all civic policies and overseeing all capital projects, including the Community Building and Pool Renovation at Crown Valley Park, the biggest capital project Laguna Niguel has even undertaken.

Letourneau said in a city press release:

“I look forward to partnering with the Mayor and City Council, City staff, and the community.

“Laguna Niguel offers an exceptional quality of life for its residents and businesses, and I am excited to be a part of securing a bright future for this vibrant and attractive community.”

Letourneau has also worked in the private sector as a consultant. That, combined with her government roles, has given her experience quarterbacking large construction projects and handling daily civic affairs.

When important job vacancies are filled, it is also an important time to solicit printing services. Business card printing and new Letterheads are sure to be on the shopping list when Letourneau moves into her new office and officially begins her new role on August 12.
