The City of Laguna Niguel is advertising for volunteers to serve on the city’s commissions and committees.
Applications for a variety of volunteer positions are being accepted by Laguna Niguel for fiscal year 2016-2017. A series of pamphlets supplied by a Stationery printer could go a long way in providing the details of each committee and commission.
The following each have two positions open:
• The Investment, Banking and Audit Committee, which meets quarterly to review Laguna Niguel’s investment policy and recommend revisions to the city’s Draft Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
• The Planning Commission, which holds meetings twice a month and is responsible for rendering decisions under the authority of the Laguna Niguel Municipal Code.
• The Parks and Recreation Commission, which meets once a month and serves in an advisory capacity for development of parks and recreational services. The Traffic and Transportation Commission also meets once a month and advises City Council on traffic matters including enforcement and pedestrian safety.
Additionally, the Senior Advisory Committee, which meets as needed, has three vacancies to fill and the Sports Advisory Committee has one opening. The Military Support Committee is looking for 11 volunteers to “sustain and enhance” the relationship between Laguna Niguel and the local military facilities and personnel
Applicationd will be accepted until 5:00 pm on October 30 at Laguna Niguel City Hall. All applicants, except those for the Military Support Committee, must be residents of the city.
