Hidden Hills Elementary celebrates milestone
Parents, students, and alumni of Laguna Niguel’s Hidden Hills Elementary joined faculty members present and past in marking the school’s 20th anniversary this month.
Around 300 were present on March 20 to hear from those who were a part of the school’s opening, as well as enjoy a slide show and photo exhibit of the school through the years. On hand to provide entertainment was the Dana Hills High School drum line.
Among those who returned to celebrate Hidden Hills’ milestone were Shelly Kurtz and Laura Lyons, both former teachers who have climbed the academic ladder. They are each now serving as principals at Bathgate Elementary and Castille Elementary respectively. Another former teacher present was the executive director of state and federal programs at Capistrano Unified School District, Stacy Yogi.
The school has worked hard to keep up with the times. Twice, in 1998 and 2010, Hidden Hills Elementary has had the opportunity to contact the school’s Stationery printing company to request the addition of California Distinguished School be added to its Letterheads.
During the celebratory event, the school took the opportunity to show off its latest changes, and new programs such as a Homework Club and an academic intervention program. Additionally, last year’s addition of a science lab and this year’s breakfast program and robotics club were shown off as well.
