Aldi, a discount grocery chain is making, its first foray into Southern California with a store opening in March.
The German-based grocery chains specializes in low-cost and no frills goods, and has announced that it will have a total of 25 stores in operation by July of 2016, including one in SoCal.
An additional 20 stores are planned to be opened by the end of next year. Although it wasn’t announced how many, some of those 45 stores will definitely be in Orange County.
This will impact Laguna Niguel residents as, according to the Los Angeles Times, Aldi does well in both economically depressed and affluent areas. Moreover, its deep discounts and low overhead business model trigger lower prices from competing grocers. In addition to the lower prices, some shoppers appreciate the scaled-down stores with an emphasis of straightforward navigation. Aldi’s limits its shelf space to the most commonly sought after items in their most popular size.
Managers will be in the market for digital Business Cards, but they will have few employees to manage. Shoppers bag their own groceries and, due to a 25¢ deposit on shopping carts, the store does not need employees to wrangle carts. Fewer employees and stock made up of 90% Aldi’s store brands explains why the chain is able to offer such low prices.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
