Hayward to organize Halloween-themed event for families

The Hayward Area Recreation and Park District will hold a kid-friendly Halloween experience at Kennedy Park.

Trunk or Treat is a community program where families can enjoy Halloween-related activities in a safe and child-friendly environment. The yearly tradition was created by the Hayward Public Library and Hayward Promise Neighborhoods. There will be many activities at the park, like scavenger hunts, games, and places for taking photos. Local recreation departments that hold events like this may use poster printing services to promote their seasonal activities to families.

Children interested in crafting projects can visit several themed booths during the event to work on pieces with local artists. Participants will get to make Halloween decorations, costumes, and paint their own pumpkins. Those who create costumes at the event may join a costume contest. This year will also include the Unhaunted House, which will take guests on an undersea-themed adventure with a pirate ship, mermaid lagoon, and coral reef.

The Trunk or Treat experience will take place on Saturday, October 24 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. There is no cost for families to come to Kennedy Park for the event. People who want to support the Halloween-themed activity can sign up to volunteer. Volunteers will help with tasks like setting up canopies, directing foot traffic, distributing food, and engaging with families while they take part in activities.
