Residents of Hayward are urged to make a difference in their city by rolling up their sleeves and cleaning up the neighborhood.
The Keep Hayward Clean and Green Task Force is organizing a clean-up, as part of National Make A Difference Day.
National Make A Difference Day started in 1992, and over the next 20 years became one of the biggest national community service days in the country, with millions of people taking part in thousands of communities, all aiming to make theirs a little better.
In Hayward, volunteers are asked to bring their own gloves and meet in front of Annabelle’s Candy the morning of the event.
This is one of many Hayward events organized by the Keep Hayward Clean and Green Task Force, an organization formed to protect the environment and improve the visual appearance of Hayward.
The group uses these clean-ups to share information and raise awareness of Green City programs that can help residents save energy and money.
Print shops can provide valuable services at events like these with brochure printing to help distribute important information to residents.
There is one more clean-up scheduled in 2019 - in November at Tennyson Park.
The Hayward National Make A Difference Day Clean-up Event takes place Saturday, October 26, between 8:00 am and 11:30 am at 27211 Industrial Blvd., in Hayward.
