Hayward holds two Halloween carnivals

The city of Hayward is hoping to offer some entertaining alternatives to trick or treating this year, with both a Halloween Parade and two Mini-Carnivals. The events will allow families to dress up in costumes, play some games, and get some treats.

The parade will be a short procession around the area of the Hayward Main Library. Children and parents are encouraged dress up in costume and walk the streets to bring in the spirit of Halloween.

Afterwards, the first Mini-Carnival will begin. The carnival has been divided into two age groups: five and under, and six and up. The event will include gathering candy, as well as games where children can win small prizes.

The second Mini-Carnival will be held a few days later at the Weekes Library. The hope is that this will allow maximum participation for children in the city, who might have trouble visiting the main branch of the library. The Flyers promise a very similar experience at the second carnival, with candy, games, and costumes galore.

The Halloween Parade and First Mini-Carnival will be held on October 26 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Main Library, located at 835 C St. The Second Mini-Carnival will be held on October 29 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Weekes Branch Library, located at 27300 Patrick Ave. Admission to both events are free. Anyone interested in more info should contact the library.
