Hayward area event to light up the night

The Hayward area will be kicking off this year’s holiday season with a special celebration of light, sound, and color, and it promises to offer an evening of fun for everyone who comes out.

The festivities will open with a tree lighting, and this free event is being offered through the assistance of the Niles Merchants’ Association. DJ Alex Reyes, who has also lent his support to the occasion, will provide the entertainment.

Once the tree has been lit, it will be time for Fremont’s downtown to do the same. It is expected that as many as 20,000 people will stand along Niles boulevard to take in the holiday parade, which will feature more than 60 floats, many of which will be brightly lit. There will also be marchers, dancing Christmas trees and even the 501st Legion of Star Wars Storm Troopers will be getting in on the fun. Businesses will be open, and those who come out can do some shopping or stop for a bite to eat.

Along with the parade, the annual Train of Lights will be back for 2018. This 14-car steam train will be decorated for the season, and over 500 passengers will be along for the ride. Banner printing services can be utilized to provide the added special touch to an occasion like this.

This year’s Niles Festival of Lights Parade has been planned for November 23. It will be taking place in Fremont starting at 6:00 pm.
