Beer was never mentioned in the Star Wars movie franchise, but that is not stopping the San Diego Air and Space Museum mixing them together in a space-themed brew festival.
It will be the first year for the event, which will showcase more than 20 local craft beers. Favorite characters from the Star Wars films will also be on hand for photo ops, and no doubt fans of sci-fi and beer alike will be making the short trip from Chula Vista.
Tickets are available online for $35, and ticket-holders can enjoy unlimited tastings. Appropriately named R2-DJ2 will be spinning some tunes, and there will be live music by a band called Storm Rockers.
The museum is having fun with the event, and creating tasting rooms called the Darth Lair of Ciders and the Rebel Beer Base.
Breweries attending events like these can use Print shops for banner printing, or to print Menus, price lists and Business Cards.
The beer festival is obviously an adult-oriented event, but the museum is holding other events in January designed for a younger audience. The Fly Your Ride event challenges children to build their own vehicles the size of a shoe box and send them down a ramp to see how far they can jump. Little Engineers Saturday classes is also returning to the museum, where children between the ages of three and five can learn about science.
The Star Brews Beer Festival takes place Saturday, January 4 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the San Diego Air and Space Museum in historic Balboa Park, 2001 Pan American Plaza in San Diego.
