Chula Vista residents can celebrate St. Patrick's Day by raising funds for their favorite charities with a run, jog, walk, or stroll anywhere and at any time in March.
The 2nd Annual Shamrocks and Shenanigans Virtual 4 Miler Event is a virtual run that allows participants to take part in the event on their own schedule and with a route of their choosing – alone or in a group.
This virtual run allows people in Chula Vista to compete with participants across the United States and all over the world. Participants can complete their four-mile run inside or outside, and one mile at a time.
Registration happens online on the Shamrocks and Shenanigans website. Registrants receive in the mail an official Tyvek race bib, and a finishers' medal with four one-mile markers that participants can attach while completing their required distance. After finishing the race, runners input their results and see how they measured up with other racers.
The 2020 edition of this virtual run allows more local charities to benefit. Groups representing charitable organizations can designate their own charity as the beneficiary of their particular run. Print shops can allow groups to advertise their charities while they run.
Participants are encouraged to wear green or their best St. Patrick's Day-themed attire for the event.
Chula Vista participants in the 2nd Annual Shamrocks and Shenanigans Virtual 4 Miler event have the whole month of March to complete the race, starting at midnight on March 1.
