Being the spouse of a military member can present its own unique set of challenges, and a workshop that will be taking place in the Chula Vista area will help prepare future military spouses for their role.
Those who attend the PS - Before You Say "I Do" - Military Marriage Preparation Seminar will walk away with a greater knowledge and understanding of the difficulties they may encounter during their married life. A variety of subject matter experts will be on hand to share tips, give information, and answer questions.
An assortment of topics has been included in the agenda for the day. These include financial planning, realistic expectations for marriage, how to communicate with their new husband or wife, how to access support from the Family Advocacy Program, military chaplaincy services, and what the Maine Family Life Counselor can do for them.
The organizers of the workshop strongly encourage all local military members who plan on getting married to participate, and there may even be special incentives offered to those who do. Poster printing can be used to create materials that promote a function like this to anyone who may be interested in taking part.
This marriage preparation event will be taking place on January 18 in classroom 6 of The HUB, which is located at 5305 Miramar Way in San Diego. Anyone who is interested in participating can obtain further details by contacting the MAG-11 Chaplain’s Office at (858) 577-4443.
