Fun day for Chula Vista kids and seniors

Chula Vista will soon be playing host to an event that will bring together seniors and children in an event that will allow them to share their love of physical activity.

During the 15th Annual South County Intergenerational Games, those over 50 will be partnered with students from Chula Vista Elementary School’s third grade classes. Together they will play an assortment of games, which will include everything form tossing a flying disc to shooting a basketball, t-ball and even a guess the mystery vegetable or fruit. There will also be activities to help them get to know one another a little bit better.

According to the organizers, the goal of the event is to bring together older and younger people in a spirit of fun and understanding. The older people will be able to get some exercise and have fun while the students will learn about respect and how to make physical activity a part of their daily lives. Stationery printers can provide an activity like this with personalized certificates for each person who takes part.

Anyone who plans on taking part is reminded to wear their sunscreen and sunglasses, as well as a hat. They should also bring along plenty of water to drink.

The games have been planned for April 4th at the Chula Vista Training Center. Anyone with questions is asked to contact Jessica Bayon at jessica.bayon@sdcounty.ca.gov for further details.
