The farm-to-fork movement is gaining momentum, and a Chula Vista area event will provide an introduction to this way of eating and how the public can incorporate it into their daily lives.
The participants in the Farm2Fork Social Cooking workshop will be led on a guided tour of some local farmers’ markets. At each stop, they will learn how they can choose the freshest produce for their table while also meeting the farmers who provide it.
After the market tour, the class will head to the Chef’s kitchen to transform their ingredients into three different dishes. They will be given tips and learn new cooking techniques, and when the food prep is over, they will relax and enjoy the meal while they sip wine, beer or a spritz cocktail. This learning opportunity is being organized by Cucina Migrante, and anyone who is interested in expanding their culinary horizons or finding out more about where the food on their table comes from is welcome.
The class will begin at 5:30 pm sharp and will run until 8:30 pm. Stationery printers will be able to provide laminated recipe cards and other items for an event like this.
This opportunity to explore the farm-to-fork movement will be offered on July 5 in San Diego’s Golden Hill. More information about the event can be found on its online event listing.
