Donation event scheduled in Chula Vista

An organization in Chula Vista has scheduled specific times when it will accept donations, with one this coming week.

Deseret Industries is similar to Good Will and other organizations that accept goods for resale, as well as providing employment and training opportunities for people in the community. People can work at Deseret Industries to learn retail skills or choose to learn a trade at Deseret Manufacturing.

The company also partners with institutions, such as community colleges, that offer courses such as information technology, accounting, and more. The Chula Vista location has several opportunities for people to donate to them to help support their programs. Flyer printing can be used to create handouts for people participating in events like this.

The facility is accepting two types of donations: the car/SUV/truck donation, and the oversized/trailer donation. The categories describe the size of the vehicle carrying the donations. Car/SUV/truck donations can be transported in those vehicles and do not require the extra space of a trailer, while the oversized donations are the larger items that require a trailer to haul them. However, pods and semi-trucks will not be allowed.

There are 50 available spots for people bringing the donations in a car/SUV/truck, and one spot for the person bringing in oversized items. Reservations for the spots are needed, and the registration ends Monday, May 3 for both options.

The drop-off date is also Monday, from 10.00 am until 5.00 pm, at the Deseret Industries location in Chula Vista, 1773 Broadway, Suite B.
